That being said, I do not consider "gamer" to be a defining term for me. I would always rather read. And my interest in games does not extend beyond the games to the culture surrounding it.There was the life that you lived, which consisted of the choices you made. And then, there was the other life, the one that was the things you hadn’t chosen. And sometimes, this other life felt as palpable as the one you were living. It was all about the writing style and relationships for me that took the meaning of gaming to a whole new level. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is an incredible tour de force. to write something as meta as the process of making video games with a lyrism this profound is no easy task. Zevin's descriptions of the process, so technical, transport the reader into an imaginary world so vast that at one point, i saw myself in the game sam and sadie made. additionally, i salute the author's courage to include difficult literary techniques (e.g.: second-person pov) in an already intricate setting. Reading this is almost like an invitation from Zevin to enter a game...with every scene and moment so carefully constructed. Just brilliant Skinny, *Books of the Year* Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow (an ode to MacBeth, which later, ties beautifully into one of the characters arcs) is the story of missed opportunities, successes, pains, love, and a passion for art.
