Prime lens would bring noise levels down in low light shooting since no longer having to shoot at 1600 iso to capture that memorable moment. Lesser sensors even at iso 100 have this coarse look about it, like dense coarse sand that will disperse unevenly and unattractively. Besides the above-mentioned qualities these cameras all share one other thing: they’re positively geriatric in digital terms. Then, if you decide to sell, MPB will pick up your kit with a free insured DPD collection and you’ll get paid cash into your account within days.

Nikon had the temerity to offer an expensive AF-enabled adapter to cobble its DSLR lenses to the 1 cameras, which all of seven people must have bought. But you have to remember that from a light gathering standpoint (how many photons get recorded), the 1” sensor is 2. That’s not terrible, but don’t think you’re going to solve the Nikon 1 small sensor problem with just an f/1.

I love it because it can also be fitted with a screw-on metal lens cap (which I also own), the HC-N10, to make it a tiny, low profile package but still offering the protection of a lens shade.i say “nearly” because some reviews on youtube showed up a better performance by rx-100 but anyways that’s not very imp and not the point. The Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR delivers a 35mm full-frame equivalent field of view and stands out due to its small size and weather-resistant build. The enthusiast-focused V1 (and I definitely considered myself an enthusiast) was bigger, blacker, and more button-and-wheely—but did I mention it was bigger?

At least until Nikon releases a native Micro-Nikkor for Nikon 1, in which case I will get that lens and use it WITH the Marumi. The corners look better but still noticeably behind the center in terms of resolution and sharpness. The speed of a lens describes its maximum aperture—the larger the aperture, the more light it lets in and, therefore, the faster the lens. Truly "apochromatic" lenses don't show this kind of fringing but these lenses are very rare especially below 100mm.Otherwise, the 10-100mm is similar when it comes to distortion, corner shading and chromatic aberration. My current one is my second copy and is a little bit better than my first but never the less – i find it wanting. But if you’re looking for a fast prime lens for portraits and low-light conditions, this lens fits the bill admirably. If you do not shoot with film you’ll only look at the colors and not the texture of the actual photo.

The good news is that it is a very straightforward barreling, and not a more complex type of distortion as we sometimes find these days with lenses that have aspherical elements, so easily removed. There are lugs at the front so it is able to accept the Nikon HB-N104 which is sold as a separate item, it has a conical shape so people gave it the name “barnacle-hood”.There was a time, hard to countenance now, when the DSLR money train looked like it was it going to clack along forever, assuming you were too myopic to see the one-two punch of mirrorless and cell phones looming down the line. There’s presumably not a ton of ED glass in this low-cost, lightweight lens, which probably explains the less-than-total longitudinal chromatic aberration correction.
