Description

The album includes their first two singles "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and "When the Sun Goes Down", as well as re-recorded versions of both tracks from the band's debut EP, Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys. Because after fine-tuning your taste over a lifetime, trusting someone else to curate your record collection can be scary. Released in 2006, the Arctic Monkeys' debut album was fairly typical of the 'good' (in my opinion) music that was in the charts at the time. Experience the iconic sound of Arctic Monkeys' debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, through the warm and immersive quality of vinyl.

This album could be a blueprint for an imagined future; a reminiscence of the past; or your existence now.A lot of my friends and I used to go out having blared this through our hi-fi's at uni when it came out and it always set us up for a good night out. As for the band now, they are back with an outstanding new album AM , which might be their best yet. Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not is the debut studio album by English rock band Arctic Monkeys, released on 23 January 2006 by Domino Recording Company.

The first album from Sheffield-based rockers, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not was the fastest selling debut album in UK chart history. Many critics and figures in the British media hyped the Arctic Monkeys and their rapid rise to acclaim through unconventional means. All of those bands have great albums and are some of my current favorites, but they aren't really traditional "rock" albums per se.The album surpassed Elastica‘s self-titled album to become the fastest selling debut album in British music history, shifting over 360,000 copies in its first week, and remains the fastest selling debut album by a band. It is however, an absolute stonker of an album and I highly recommend that if you haven't heard it yet, that you go and do so! in fact, this album ends so strongly that its ridiculous, with the great lyrics and varied sound of When the Sun Goes Down. the boys may share a love of the smiths, the clash and the jam, but in no way were the monkeys ready to simply regurgitate the well-trodden brit-rock path.
