Description

Rose encourages Garnet to go from the very beginning, knowing full well that she's stirring the pot between the sisters. The girls also find that there is a huge fee that needs to be paid for the pair of them, something which their dad cannot afford. Ruby is the one who is elder by 20 minutes and shows dominance in her behaviour but she is highly protective of Garnet. I would strongly recommend this book to any one who has a twin because it’s kind of a story of how you can still be twins even though your twin is somewhere else. She also realises, alternately, that being together would have helped Garnet feel better about leaving.

When the twins run off to the audition on their own, he gets there just in time to put a spanner in the works. After undertaking a tour and doing various tests its found that ruby did not get the scolarship but it was infact garnet that did. As I have read this book 11 times I could probaly tell you a lot about it so dont even hesitate reading this brilliant book it amazing in the way it is told and how emotianally it is told which in the end always turns out to be funny. It's a short book and quick to read, so it was the first of the books I got this Christmas, that I decided to read. The twins have their own secret language, and they don't like to make friends at school because they have each other. I really loved the portrayal of the twins, the fact that their personalities were completely different from one another, but they still . Despite their different characters; Ruby is social and Garnet accepts her sister as leader, they are agree on everything. To expand, there is also a movie (which I’ve watched) but I personally think that the movie is better than the book because you can see what the author is talking about.

It is a tale of what happens to close friends when you start to leave childhood behind and move towards your teenage years.Double Act won the prestigious Smarties Medal and the Children’s Book Award as well as being highly commended for the Carnegie Medal. Ruby and Garnet hate the idea, that means that they will have to change schools and they will have to live with Rose.

What I liked about this book: I liked having the two sides to the story, both Ruby and Garnet sharing their thoughts and opinions on the different events in the book.

Wilson has this incredible ability to adopt the mind-set of the two young girls, hence the whole book is written in journal form.
