Mad-Eye crawled his way to Tonks side after she was injured duelling Bellatrix Lestrange in the Department of Mysteries. He crawled to her side despite having been injured by Antonin Dolohov. Tonks was devastated by Moody's death in 1997 and was seen crying.

Professor Moody emerges from a classroom near to the Charms corridor just after Harry tells Cedric about the dragons. He tells Harry to come to his office, and closes the door behind them. He watches Harry closely as the boy looks around his office, and tells him about the Dark Detectors he keeps in there. Moody tells Harry that he doesn't want to play favourites but that he wants to give Harry some general advice. He encourages Harry to play to his strengths, reminding Harry that he is an excellent flier. He gives one other piece of advice to Harry: he needs to use a nice, simple spell to get what he needs. Moody doesn't directly tell Harry anything, but he encourages him to put the two pieces of advice together to figure out what he needs for the first task. Herbology: As an Auror, Moody was skilled in Herbology, as he had to have received at least an Exceeds Expectations in his O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. for this subject. [45] Crouch Jnr's father, as a high-ranking Ministry official, spent his entire life dedicated to eradicating the Dark forces, and as such, didn't pay enough attention to his own son. When Crouch Jnr was caught with other Death Eaters at the crime scene of torture of Alice and Frank Longbottom to insanity, his father's parental affection extended to as much as giving him a trial, something he did not always give other suspects. In the end, the trial was merely to make an example out of his own son, and to publicly disown him, making clear he had nothing to do with anyone who would even remotely be connected to the committing of such a horrible crime. Hermione and Moody fought at several battles together, but, when Moody was killed, Hermione was devastated.
