Sally's Graphite Transfer Paper can be used anywhere to transfer a drawing from a pattern, sketch or template to any surface. The alcohol will dissolve and redistribute the graphite, smoothing it and reducing its smudge capability. Even on watercolour paper you can do this firmly without damaging the paper as it’s very gentle on the surface.

There are many types of graphite, carbon and wax-free transfer papers to enable this but we would recommend the humble pastel stick. I have the kids in my classes work on their drawing and once they have erased, corrected and finalised their drawing, they transfer it to watercolour paper ready for painting. The darker coloured Tracedown sheets are ideal for use with white paper or light coloured surfaces, while for darker projects white and yellow are more suitable. One idea is to carefully wrap it in glassine and tape a piece of foamboard to the front of the piece, to act as a protective barrier. We like that they come in sets of four sheets packaged on a convenient roll to prevent tearing and creasing.
