All the same, I think that either this stuff is improving with age, from what was already a good baseline (perhaps becoming more integrated, rounded and so on, while not losing any impact but conceivably even gaining a little cred by virtue of smelling less--thin or something), or I just increasingly appreciate it. As an NHS business we work tirelessly to provide support to our local community with a particular focus on those most vulnerable and in need. Well, then I also get some caraway or cumin and its sweet, spicy, musky and woody tones are harmonizing well with the fruity-spicy sweetness of carnation.

These gradually fade, making way for middle notes of carnation, cinnamon, jasmine, caraway and pine. I live in Ireland and grew up in a semi-rural area, I currently live in a city center and like to put this on after getting back in from a days work, like I'm reconnecting with my roots and back where I grew up.Devin, and its sister scent Alliage, have the potential to be the King and Queen of green masterpieces, but sadly it's looking like they will be reformulated out of existence and confined to history by government interference. Sometimes it is a bit grotesque (Havana, Aramis900), sometimes brilliant and innovative (New West), sometimes timeless. Strong leathery pine, oakmoss and carnation classic elements blended in such a way that they are not appealing to me. Pine needles and pine tree are redolent in this scent particularly as it enters the middle stage where it joins in pastoral scents of oak moss and cedar wood. The Aramis fragrances I've tried have all been distinctly strange (although New West is the most wearable of the lot) and delightful.

The caraway and leather combo in itself reminds me of another classic, Eau d'Hermes, which is also a very welcome surprise to my nose. In terms of other fragrances that Devins resembles, I'd say something along the lines of Dior Eau Sauvage, Maison Margiela Jazz Club and By the Fireplace. I have a vintage mini-bottle and it's super nice; a woody-mossy scent that lands squarely in 70s/80s territory, my favorite fragrance destination. Very generic for its ingredients but after application only Devin does the magic and it grows on every user of it. Drydown is its best side, though, and I should add that Devin, when reactivated by a little sweat/activity hours after application, has a lovely musky closeness.Sometimes i close my eyes and sense how a fragrance can just make me feel or remember something, even if I cant quite put my finger on what it is.

I do not know if there is something wrong with my bottle but the ONLY thing i can smell on this is JASMINE, JASMINE, JASMINE. It's probably not even civet, but a combination of leather, cumin, jasmine, carnation, galbanum and oakmoss. and i love this stuff, smells like a man would want to project to others depending on their personality, maybe an out doors rugged man.

I always found a good companion in an Aramis perfume - starting with the classic Aramis for men, still one of my favorites. It's a beautiful and very natural-smelling fragrance, clearly the work of a master, and if you're looking for a perky autumnal fragrance to wear with a sweater, look no further. Although I believe it is of EdT strength, I find that the current version from the Gentlemen's Collection has slightly disappointing longevity on my skin at around 4 hours. Since everything in terms of fashion rotates from time to time, I am just waiting for Devin to become men's choice again.

I think a woman could wear it just as well as a man, especially if her favorite place in the world is in the saddle. for me, it’s average, and I respect others who think this is incredible, I just can’t get there at all. There are a number of others Russian Leathers that came out, also notable is the Del Oro version which is similar to the P. Because of that, this scent to me is just a curiosity; a very good fragrance that they wore back in the 1970s.

Longevity for me was average rather than strong--the morning application seemed to wear off by noon. I was a punk rocker and I know this fragrance was targeted to a more, uh-hem, conservative crowd, but I wore it nonetheless. The projection is very good so if you wear Devin it will be surely noticed (silage is a plus however longevity isn’t phenomenal, expect 6 hours or so.
