About this deal

The casual, conversational writing style is paired with a satirical narrative that is both uncomfortable and entertaining in its use of dark humour and commentary on social issues. These vocal variations create an immersive listening experience and smoothly convey the emotions within the story. I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by the cover, and I totally have been burned by this, but in this case it worked for me.

If you like smut, there was quite a few of them in this book (which once again added nothing to the plot! You should realise by now that I’m a fan of dark humour, so clearly when this kept on appearing on my Facebook, I was intrigued. I was a little surprised that Kitty herself didn’t seem super concerned about it, viewing it more as a nuisance that this anonymous person being in her business than someone who could very easily turn her in or at least tip someone off about her. There is also a mystery at hand, as Kitty, being a well loved and well known influencer, has a stalker that is lurking about. The first person narrative made it an intimate novel between serial killer and reader, where you get to read about all Kitty’s juicy, darkest secrets. It's a great summery read for the morbidly inclined and I'm excited to check out the author's follow-up. It’s possible I’m not necessarily the target audience for this one as I’m a bit long in the tooth for the Insta Influencer malarkey but that being said, I didn’t half enjoy it!

If you’re looking for a fast read with a little dark humour with an unlikable, but almost relatable MC, I can’t recommend this one enough!

She's pretty and I wonder why she's a police officer when there are a hundred other less traumatizing things she'd be able to do with her looks. It does remind me a lot of Dexter, as there are many points in this book that we are following her living a normal life. Starts off with similar vibes to How To Kill Your Family - and undoubtedly, will appeal to anyone who enjoyed that - but develops into a morally grey, Robin Hood-esque murderous rampage with a.

You will find bits of dark comedy, serial killer thriller and romance all mixed together into one delicious bookish cocktail, and there are many different elements incorporated into the plot. First of all, Kitty has a metldown and is somehow found unresponsive by Charlie (who dumped her after a month or so) and then suddenly in the hospital he's like "btw I love you" and she says it back?If you are looking for a deliciously dark, gloriously gruesome read with lots of funny bits in between then you simply must add this book to your TBR.

with respect to men who wrong women, becomes very strong and she feels as if she is on a mission, until she does something completely wrong, messing up everything. This book contains all the fury and despair of what it’s like to be a woman ever fearful of male sexual predators. This marvellous work of fiction gives vent to the fantasy: ‘What if there was an avenger-ist woman among us who spotted the worst ba*t*ards and knocked ‘em off? There is a pretty drastic plot twist towards the end as well, and I didn't really see that one coming. It's brittle and violent and sad and sticks fairly closely to the ugly reality behind all those Instagram and TikTok poses.HOW TO KILL MEN AND GET AWAY WITH IT is an aggressively decent read, but it's heavy on the gore and I don't really think the cover prepares you for that. So I learned Spanish (I actually have a degree in Spanish philology), went to study in Madrid, Spain when I was 20. Kitty is also the daughter of a pig slaughterhouse owner, spending her life watching pigs grotesquely meet their end. She loved bankrolling her life with her Instagram money but constantly bitched about what it meant to be an influencer.
