Description

After those 88 minutes, the dustbin was completely filled with dust, dog hair, crumbs, and feathers that must have escaped my pillows. My floors looked much cleaner, and my carpets had perfect vacuum lines on them.

In our testing, we found that they handled about 91% of dust, 95.2% of larger debris, and over 94% of pet hair on low-pile carpets. The Eufy G40 Hybrid+ has a suction power of up to 2500 Pa, enabling it to manage dirt and debris like pet hair, dust, and small particles. Nevertheless, it may not be as effective at cleaning deep-pile carpets as other robot vacuums. Regarding hard floors: On test, the Eufy G30 Hybrid impressed with its suction power on both carpets and hard floors. It collected fine dust, cookie crumbs and larger debris – including cereal – with ease, even on the lowest power setting. Capable of mopping as well as vacuuming on hard floors, the G30 Hybrid will happily slosh water over your floors to remove fresh dirt. However, it doesn’t have a scrubbing action, so struggles with tougher, ground-in dirt and stains. The RoboVac G30 has four suction options to choose from: Standard, Turbo, Max, and BoostIQ. By default it’s set to BoostIQ, which automatically adjusts the suction power based on your floors and the level of debris detected. With BoostIQ enabled, it will increase the suction when it moves over carpets and heavily-soiled areas. Setup and MaintenanceThe convenience features of the G40+, like automatic recharging, self-emptying, and resuming where it left off, make it suitable for people with busier or more hectic schedules. Less manual emptying and maintenance are required.

As you’d expect from iRobot’s highest-end model, it’s not cheap (although worth noting it is currently on offer), and it wasn’t any faster than either of the other machines we tested from the brand. It can only be controlled via the app, but we found it clear to use, allowing you to set no-go zones, create cleaning schedules and look over the battery life and cleaning history.

Cleaning performance

Adaptability to Different Floor Types: Its ability to adjust suction power dynamically means the G40+ offers thorough cleaning whether on hardwood, tile, or carpet. The transition between these surfaces is seamless, ensuring an uninterrupted cleaning cycle. Mobility is further enhanced thanks to the wireless design that comes with two interchangeable batteries, both capable of delivering a 40-minute run time on low suction, 25 minutes on mid-mode, and eight high-powered minutes on max-mode and the full 120AWs of suction.

The Eufy RoboVac G40 Hybrid+ has a maximum suction power of 2500Pa, which is suitable for a robot vacuum. This allows it to handle most types of dirt and debris, including pet hair, dust, and small particles. We placed various obstacles in the testing environment, like cords, shoes, pet bowls, and chair legs. The G40+ was run multiple times to assess its ability to navigate around obstacles and maneuver in tight spaces.

Li-ion Battery: A durable battery ensuring extended and consistent performance throughout its lifespan. Comprehensive Accessory Kit: The model comes bundled with handy extras, including an additional filter, a side brush, zip ties, and a cleaning tool. These are not just conveniences but essential components that enhance the device’s longevity.Eufy has added some significant navigation skills to the G30 Edge and they’re worth having. The G30 Edge isn’t as sophisticated at map building and learning about its environment as rival models like the Neato Botvac D7 Connected but the basic mapmaking displayed here is better than the trundle and bump navigation we’ve seen on Eufy’s cheaper models, such as the 15C. In short, yes. While not the case for every robot we tested, we found some models that were able to reach into nooks and crannies and manoeuvre around furniture with ease – a task that many regular vacuums also struggle with. How we test robot vacuums We consider pet hair, too. Using the real thing sourced from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, our expert grinds it into the carpet to create a worst-case scenario before putting each vacuum to work.
