After using the Cicaplast line consistently over the last few months, my skin barrier has been transformed.

The Cicaplast Baume B5 isn’t a regular moisturizer, therefore, if you try to rub it into the skin the way you would do a typical moisturizer, chances are that you are not going to like this product. It is enriched with the soothing and anti-inflammatory Madecassosideproperties and repairing skin barrier – Panthenol 5%, and anti-bacterial agents. The Cicaplast Gel B5 doesn’t contain fragrance or other fragrant components and has no scent. Consistency I’ve used quite a few products from the brand, and while they might not necessarily be revolutionary, they get the job done. However, one of the key ingredients missing in the Cicaplast Gel B5 is shea butter, which is present in the Cicaplast Baume B5.Overall, it is a solid barrier repair product, and if you use it consistently enough, you’ll get about the same results as the Baume. The Cicaplast Gel B5 has a much simpler and straight-to-the-point ingredient list when compared to the Cicaplast Baume B5. It almost reminds me of a lighter, more sophisticated version of Vaseline or Aquaphor or a silicone-based primer, which if you have oily skin, you probably know how badly it exacerbates skin texture besides making your makeup slide off your face.

While the Cicaplast Baume is mainly formulated to heal your skin barrier, the Cicaplast Gel, on the other hand, isn’t limited to barrier repair. I typically use the Cicaplast Baume at the last step of my nighttime skincare routine, so I decided to swap it for the Cicaplast Gel to see how it compares. Its consistency is a more sophisticated version of Vaseline, Aquaphor, or a silicone-based primer, which could exacerbate skin texture and cause makeup to slide off. I used to apply the Cicaplast Baume B5 before bed, 20-30 minutes after applying tretinoin, and I would feel immediate relieffrom dryness and irritation.I also never stopped using it even after stopping tretinoin, and I even use it as a weekly mask by applying much more than I usually would and sleeping in it. Creates an occlusive layer on the skin to protect wounds, cuts, and scrapes from becoming infected. One of my favorite ways to use the Cicaplast Balm B5 is for slugging. With this balm, you can get the hydrating benefits of petroleum jelly without the heaviness and greasiness that come along with it. When my skin feels very dry, I use a thin layer of this as a 10-minute leave-on mask or as an overnight treatment, and a pea-sized amount is enough to cover my entire face and lips. The formula is non-comedogenic (non-pore clogging), so it’s safe for acne-prone skin. This product is also semi-occlusive, allowing the skin to ‘breathe’ while protecting it from water loss. Due to its consistency, I found the Cicaplast Gel B5 to slide off my skin, and I don’t think that I’m getting any benefits from it. In fact, my skin feels suffocated under it, even though its consistency is much lighter compared to the Cicaplast Baume B5. This will help the balm settle and absorb into the skin instead of sitting on the surface and leaving white streaks behind. Performance

On the other hand, the Cicaplast Gel B5 is a light silicone gel that does spread easily and leaves a barrier on the skin to prevent moisture loss, but it also makes my face look and feel extremely oily, and it does nothing to improve the overall appearance of my skin.
