Ready to get inventive with the LEGO Minions in Gru’s Lab set? The Minions have helped to transform Gru’s basement into a laboratory. Now they’re preparing to have some fun. Watch them create mischief as they slide into the bananas and test out a vehicle on the ramp. See if they can make a vehicle crash into the fence! As mentioned above Stuart is a single build, the basic build is almost identical to the other characters. The notable differences are his eye and his interior. Unlike the other Minions, Stuart has a single peeper. This uses slightly different elements as well, a classic umbrella piece is topped by a printed 2×2 round tile. This gives the eye a more textured look and being able to turn it via a dial inside allows you to bring a surprising amount of character to the set. Within the rear of Stuart, you’ll discover a compact but detailed room. As well as a few control panels and pictures, you find a pair of speakers and a flip-down bed, which perfectly matches up with Stuart’s PJ wearing Minifigure. We touched on the minifigure version of the Minions above, but it’s worth highlighting them again. All three are unique versions to this set, and the mix-and-match nature of the parts means you can create several different looks for each. There are extra accessories for each scattered throughout the builds, so there’s plenty of play to be had. One thing I did notice is that in all the product shots Kevin’s hard hat sits neatly atop his head. In reality (and in the instructions) you have to add a 1×1 round plate in between to have it stay on. It creates a very visible gap. So I photographed him here without it, as I was feeling generous, and as it looks pretty stupid with it.

Kung-fu: Nice colors and parts, ignoring the Minions it could be used as an add-on to Ninjago and the Chinese New Year sets. Gameloft (June 13, 2013). "Gameloft, Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment Launch "Despicable Me: Minion Rush" " (Press release). PR Newswire. Archived from the original on June 17, 2013 . Retrieved July 4, 2013. Take to the skies with LEGO Minions Bob and Stuart. They’re on a mission to save Gru and are piloting a plane for the daring rescue. Stuart is the pilot and Bob is a flight attendant in the passenger cabin, so it’s sure to be a bumpy ride. Watch out – an accident-prone Minion might fall into the toilet. And don’t forget to find the fart blaster for extra fun! A fun Minions toy plane building set (75547), featuring Stuart (in pilot outfit) and Bob LEGO figures. Kids can build the plane, then recreate thrilling scenes from the Minions: The Rise of Gru movie.

A creative building set that lets Minions fans build their favourite Minion character. Kids can build both Kevin and Stuart, and then rebuild Kevin into Bob. Lego Minions: The Rise of Gru is based on the Minions: The Rise of Gru film and focuses on the story of how the Minions helped a young Gru become the character audiences met in Despicable Me. Lego Minions: The Rise of Gru aimed to recreate the main characters in Lego form, including Bob, Gru, Kevin, Otto and Stuart. [6] Development [ edit ] Each LEGO® Minions set encourages creative fun as children role-play scenes from the Minions: The Rise of Gru movie. a b "Universal Brand Development, Illumination and The LEGO Group Announce Expanded Partnership to Include Building Sets Inspired by Minions: The Rise of Gru". Universal Brand Development . Retrieved 3 June 2019.With 876 pieces, this LEGO set provides hours of creative and imaginative play for kids. They can build their favourite Minion characters, Kevin and Stuart, and then rebuild Kevin into Bob. Each character features turning eyes and an intricate room playset inside, complete with instruments and devices that match each Minion's unique personality. Kids can create inventions in the lab with Kevin or watch Stuart take a nap in his bedroom. The set also includes accessories such as tools, hats, and weapons, allowing kids to role play and create their own Minion stories. Build Experience - 6/10 (A great middling challenge with interesting, but not groundbreaking, techniques) Technically all three Minions are exclusive to this set, Kevin appears in the same overall form in another set, but with different eyes. Kevin and Bob are both featured in unique outfits. All three characters can also be accessorized with additional hats. Some purists like nothing beyond the classic Minifigure design, which I understand, but unique elements are 100% needed to recreate the Minions in LEGO form. I like that there are different outfits but in this particular set, I would have preferred them to be in the standard uniforms just so it makes the set feel a little more generally based on the movie franchise and less tied to the upcoming movie. This set is a great choice for kids aged 4 and up. And with Instructions PLUS, learning to build is even more fun. Since Bob is so much shorter, there even more pieces left over once you complete this alternate build. While parts of the construction were nearly identical, you still need to take each model almost entirely apart to swap between them. I think that’s a positive feature; you get a sense that there are really three different designs to explore.

Makes a great birthday present for kids aged 8 and up who love Minions toys. After playing with their creation, kids will love putting their models on display.

Minifigs - 8/10 (Regardless of theme or specialised parts, LEGO just can't do bad minifigs anymore) As with quite a few of the more recent themes based on animated movies, the Minifigure characters look a little different to their usual counterparts. Although elements of the Minion figures are similar to standard Minifigures such as the hands, every component of them is unique to the Minions. The set features three Minions and each is completely unique in terms of the outfits they are wearing and the elements used to create them. They include a body section, two attachable arms, a headpiece and then eyes. The arms have appeared in other sets such as the Unikitty, NEXO KNIGHTS and Angry Birds themes, but the ones each are available in new colours or with unique print detail. Despite the Minions having a similar look, each character here has a different head element. Stuart has a single eye, with both Kevin and Bob having two. Then Kevin has a longer body than his chums and Bob being the shortest of the three. There are thousands of minions but 3 are more famous than the rest, Bob, Kevin, and Stuart. This trio are the focus of the spinoff movies and are the main three in the LEGO sets. The story of how, for LEGO, it turns out there's a bigger super-villian than Gru! This LEGO set is powered by kids' imaginations, with no batteries required. It encourages creative play and storytelling, allowing kids to explore the world of the Minions and create their own adventures. The set is part of the LEGO Minions theme, bringing the thrilling world of the Minions to any home. A creative building set that lets Minions fans build their favorite Minion character. Kids can build both Kevin and Stuart, and then rebuild Kevin into Bob.
