Inhibitions will be left at the door of the Doctors’ elusive ‘cupboard of everything’, where an investigation into some of the body’s funniest functions begins. Whether it’s exploring a set of super-sized gnashers, slipping down the oesophagus or investigating the innerworkings of the intestines, there will be plenty of giggle-worthy grossness to explore as visitors travel like a poo on a journey to discover where food goes when we eat. Operation Ouch, Chris and Xand’s double BAFTA & Broadcast award-winning series for CBBC, continues to delight audiences around the world, with Series 12 being filmed in 2023. Throughout the series, the twins create fun and often disgusting experiments to help kids learn how the human body works. The programme results in fan mail from around the world from a young audience who want to know, above all, what they need to do to become doctors. Their second Operation Ouch tour of Australia this January was a huge hit and they hope to bring the fun to their British fans with a tour in 2018. In summer 2021, Chris and Xand launched their first podcast, A Thorough Examination with Drs Chris and Xand and reached the top spot across a variety of podcast charts. The audio series sees Chris send Xand on a journey to explore his relationship with ultra-processed food. Xand meets the world’s leading experts on food, weight, taste and addiction whilst going on a UPF binge in a bid to see if he can learn to hate it. Series 2 launched in 2022 and focused on if people can change and how they do it.

This will be the first time hit CBBC show, Operation Ouch!, has been brought to life as an exhibition experience. Visitors will be sent on a special mission to get up close and in one case, extremely personal, with presenters Dr Chris, Dr Xand and Dr Ronx as they are shrunk, swallowed, squeezed through and spat out of Dr Xand’s digestive system during a lively, interactive and playful adventure to better understand our brilliant bodies. Following on from the success of ‘The Doctor Who Gave Up Drugs’, Chris investigated the impact ultra-processed foods has on our children, in ‘What Are We Feeding Our Kids?’ for BBC One. Chris and Xand have also performed Operation Ouch Live to sold-out audiences in London's West End and toured Australia. The Big Flush, a once-in-a-lifetime experience of travelling like a poo and being flushed down a giant toilet. Put on a ‘poo hat’ before passing through the pan! It is up to individual schools to define relationships education, sex education, health education and science. This may be stated in your school’s policy. These films must be watched carefully prior to using them in class, to ensure that the content reflects their school policy and definitions.

The museum's mission is to inspire all its visitors, including future scientists and inventors, with the story of how ideas can change the world, from the industrial revolution to today and beyond. These sensory-friendly sessions are specially designed for those who prefer an adjusted environment. At these times, Operation Ouch! Food, Poo and You will have a smaller capacity, with adjusted sound levels throughout the exhibition. There will also be additional sensory activities to enjoy with our Explainers.
