So, it is safe to say that you can’t really go wrong with either one of these options. Both of these systems are robust and will be a permanent part of your smart system for years to come. Another limitation of this frame is it is landscape mode only. You can load portrait photos in with pillar boxes on the sides, but Aura has a nice feature where they will smart pair two portraits at the same time so there’s no dead space. The first time I used the device, it took a little longer than expected to have photos available on Digital Frame; however, it is not taking that long anymore. Aura doesn’t compromise on the quality of the frames, and the most significant difference is between the resolutions. You will get a much clearer presentation from Mason Luxe at 2048×1536 resolution. I ran into three problems in setup. First, it took over a half an hour and multiple attempts to get the app to find the device, even though I was right next to it. Second, once it did find it, I couldn't connect the frame to my WiFi. I found that the frame only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi protocols. My Eero Pro router is 5.0 GHz. Third, even when I put my Eero Pro in 2.4GHz Legacy Mode, the frame would not connect.
It then takes you to their apps view of your pictures on your phone. You can select one or as many as you want at a time.There’s also a social side to the Aura Mason Luxe. You can invite friends and relatives to send photos to the frame, and everyone in this inner Aura circle can “like” and comment on the images, creating a cosy sort of private social network. The cost of the Mason Luxe may seem high for a 10-inch photo frame, but after our tests, we conclude the quality of the software and hardware justifies the expense. The connector is a big one. Instead of using USB-C or even microUSB, it opts for proprietary connector. Everyone has so many chargers and cables laying around this seems unnecessary.
The display itself is a 10" inch screen. The pictures are displayed very well. The frame changes pictures every 10 minutes or so but you can manually change the picture on the screen or from your IOS device. The frame looks vibrant and bright and the setup is very easy using the app. You can load photos from your phone and they are then transferred to your frame, with a pit stop at Aura’s AWS servers. Pictures aren’t stored locally, my guess is they are just cached in memory and streamed in and out of AWS. So, you shouldn’t rely on Mason Luxe if you’re planning on keeping the frame in landscape orientation. In that case, Carver Luxe is the better choice, and there is no point in choosing Mason Luxe. You’ll find many owners growing the Carver Luxe over the Mason Luxe, even if they are not worried about the budget.The fixed stand setup means you can’t adjust the display angle from its default upward tilt. While this will be an issue if you want to place the frame on a higher shelf, the viewing angles are otherwise good, with decent saturation and plenty of brightness – provided you’re fine with a reflective panel. It’s a key reason why we recommend digital frames with internal storage, extensive USB and SD card support, and a plug & play feature. We don’t recommend cloud-only digital frames like Skylight and Aura. This unit will fit right into your existing smart system, and it is pretty easy to set up with voice assistants. Aura Mason Luxe A cheap and cheerful photo frame, the Aeezo Portrait 01 is more flexible than its price tag suggests. Its no-frills, plastic build won’t win any design awards, but it’s neat enough – even if our tests found that its simple stand has limited stability.

Digital photo frames are available in a wide range of sizes. Which dimension is right for you will depend on your available space, as well as your own personal preference. Smaller digital photo frames are more compact and easier to place in your home, but offer less canvas space for your digital images. Larger photo frames give your treasured snaps room to shine, but require a larger footprint – and the biggest screens risk dominating a room. One of the nice features you can give access to the frame through the phone app. Families separated by distance as well as family members in the same home can share the joy of sharing memories. The only downside to Aura Mason Luxe in comparison to Carver Luxe is that you won’t get as much detail in landscape mode.
