Malinowski, Bronislaw; Morrissey, Mary Manin (August 27, 2002). No Less Than Greatness. Bantam Books. ISBN 978-5-551-12057-5https://books.google.com/books?id=V6MtAQAACAAJ as well as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:BookSources/978-5-551-12057-5

Morrissey mentioned that he had begun work on his autobiography in a radio interview in 2002. [1] An extract from Autobiography titled "The Bleak Moor Lies" was published in 2009 as part of The Dark Monarch: Magic & Modernity in British Art, a compendium published by Tate St Ives art gallery. [2] The extract tells the story of Morrissey and a few companions seeing what they believed to be a ghost near the Yorkshire village of Marsden in 1989. [3] In 2011, Morrissey said in an interview that he had completed the book and was looking for a publisher. He expressed interest having the book published as a Penguin Classic. [4] It’s not just because the most notable thing about his last artistic pursuit – debut novel List of the Lost – was that it sparked a nationwide competition to see who could hate a book the most. It’s not even a direct result of his recent stream of uncomfortable comments – although calling Brexit “ magnificent” and accusing the government of hushing up Islamic extremism makes it increasingly difficult for fans to excuse his questionable politics. From his paranoid claim that HMV are trying to sabotage sales of Smiths reissues, to dog-whistle views that give a different meaning to the title England Is Mine, each week seems to bring a bizarre new missive that makes it harder and harder to justify the hero worship Morrissey has long enjoyed. Then, when we actually get into the bulk of the text, of course, he chooses to remain oblivious about his own ego and relationship with The Smiths. Peter Hook was right - They never have the balls to say what's what if it concerns themselves. Only the "good" stuff. Morrissey, Mary Manin (1997). Building Your Field of Dreams. A wonderfully entertaining read. He's as witty, acerbic and opinionated as you'd expect, but there's a welcome self-awareness throughout that makes the dramatic flourishes and hyperbolic dismay all the more hilarious. He may have more flaws than Manchester's Arndale Centre but he's just brilliantly, uniquely Morrissey ( Daily Mirror)
