About this deal

Also I’d guess most things get ironed out by the time the physicals drop…. Digital are the test subjects before the physical drops I’m sure. 3 massive games in one game in who knows how long they have been working on it. Say since the switch came out for fun. That’s still not long for something of this size. This is all to celebrate the 20th anniversary of GTA 3, and other events will also be happening as part of the party: GTA Online will have special clothing, liveries, and surprises to discover, as well as "unusual activity" in San Andreas. This isn't entirely new news — we saw a leak earlier this year that seemed to imply that we'd be seeing a remastered trilogy on Switch — but still, it's nice to have it confirmed. Fixed an issue where Police Officers can be seen floating before a police car spawns during the Reuniting the Families cutscene (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One)

The Trilogy will include GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas, and will feature improved graphics and modern gameplay enhancements while keeping the "classic look and feel" of the original games. GTA 3 originally took up a svelte 1.569 GB (well, the PS2 version on PS4 did, anyway) whereas the new version weighs in at 5.293 GB. GTA: Vice City has an even bigger jump, increasing from 2.392 GB originally to 10.768 GB. GTA: San Andreas has the biggest change, though – quite literally; what started as 3.230 GB will soon take up 22.679 GB. Again, it looks reasonable sharp on my TV (and in every YouTube review so far), definitely not "well below 720p".Again, this is all stuff that should never have been a problem in the first place but, if we're to let bygones be bygones, combining these small wins with the frame rate and pacing improvements you've got an experience that is much improved over the dog's dinner we first sat down to. These improvements apply to all three games, although in terms of slight stutters and blurry effects, San Andreas does still chug here and there. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas: Five years ago, Carl ‘CJ’ Johnson escaped the haze of Los Santos, San Andreas...a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs, and corruption. Now, it's the early 90s. CJ’s got to go home - his mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart, and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster. On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of cops frame him for homicide, forcing CJ on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets in the next iteration of the series that changed everything. Fixed an issue with a missing GPS route when driving Curly Bob in a Taxi during the mission Cutting The Grass Fixed an issue where the game would crash when switching from TV mode to table mode during the loading screen Fixed an issue where the player would fail the mission The Thieves with a message “A thief’s dead” after the cutscene plays

The second major issue that we had at launch involved an awful draw distance combined with vehicles that would materialise out of nowhere, making driving feel like a real chore. Add some serious scenery pop-in to this mix and you had a visual mess to contend with. Fixed an issue where the camera is incorrectly positioned when returning to gameplay after finding Sweet in the mission Reuniting the FamiliesVice City has crashed on me more times than I can recall. If the source material wasn't as good as it was, most of us wouldn't have been so forgiving. The only other game that has come close to this level of sloppiness was Pokémon Scarlet/Violet. Driving through the streets in all three games is a nightmarish and sluggish experience as the framerate fluctuates wildly, dropping into the low twenties. GTA: San Andreas seems to have the best performance of the bunch, but it still can’t hold its target framerate for very long.
