Description

Its sculpting most closely followed the six-foot studio model's design while its paint applications approximated the four-foot studio model's on-screen appearance. The Enterprise-D served as the setting for a late-24th century version of the Kobayashi Maru scenario among the USS Protostar's training programs. In 2383, Dal R'El attempted the scenario numerous times before learning its lesson. ( PRO: " Kobayashi") The bulk of the people on board the Enterprise could be evacuated within four minutes. This was executed at Starbase 74 during 2364. ( TNG: " 11001001")

The company behind the long-running Official Starships Collection has expanded to their next level of Star Trek model: a do-it-yourself, extra-large build of the hero Next Generation starship — the Galaxy-class USS Enterprise-D!Interior sets were supervised by Herman Zimmerman during the first season and Star Trek Generations. Andrew Probert also contributed design sketches, most importantly for the bridge. Richard James took over the role from the second season until the end of the series. Many sets were recycled from those created by Harold Michelson for Star Trek: The Motion Picture and the aborted Star Trek: Phase II. In turn, many of the Enterprise-D sets were transformed into those of the USS Voyager for Star Trek: Voyager.
